What is Nicotine?
Nicotine is an alkaloid found in certain plants, predominantly tobacco, and in lower quantities in plants like tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants, and green peppers. Nicotine is highly addictive and it is the chemical in tobacco smoke that causes smokers to become addicted. Its effects are not unlike caffeine, also a naturally occurring Alkaloid, in that is causes an initial stimulation, and thereafter a feeling of relaxation, calmness, and an enhanced ability to concentrate. The effects of nicotine can last from minutes to hours. Nicotine has NEVER been classified as a carcinogen.

What’s Wrong With Traditional Tobacco Use?
To be fair there are three major problems with traditional tobacco usage; the carcinogens, toxins, and tar. 41 Carcinogens are produced, 4 major toxins are present, and a large amount of tar or resin is also produced. A carcinogen is any substance that is known to the World Health Organization to cause CANCER. These agents accomplish this by either changing your DNA, or causing cells it has adhered to, to multiply faster than their normal rate, causing a tissue mass. This mass in turn will either be malignant or benign (cancerous or not). The carcinogens that are created by the burning of a cigarette are as follows:

  • Formaldehyde
  • Vinyl Chloride
  • Urethane
  • Hydrazine
  • 2 – Nitropropane
  • Quinoline
  • Benzo[a]pyrene
  • Dibenz[a,h]
  • Anthracene
  • Benzo[b]fluorantheneene
  • Benzo[J]fluoranthene
  • Nickel
  • Nitrosopiperidine
  • Nitrosomopholine
  • Nitrosomorpholine
  • Dibenz[a,c]amtjracene
  • Dibenz[a,h]acridine
  • Polonium-210
  • Dibenzo[c,g]carbazole
  • Nitrosodimethylamine
  • Nitrosoethymethylamine
  • N’Nitrosoanabasine
  • Dibenzo[a.h]pyrene
  • Dibenzo[a,i]pryene
  • Dibenz[a,j]acridine
  • Arsenic
  • Indeno[1,2,3-cd]pyrene
  • Benzo[c]phenanthrene
  • Cagimium
  • Benz[a]anthracene
  • Benz[e]pyrene
  • Chrysene
  • Methylchrysene
  • Methylfluoranthene
  • Aromatic Amines
  • N’-Nitrosonornicotine
  • Nitrosodithylamine
  • Nitrosodi-n-propylamine
  • Nitrosodi-n-butylamine
  • Nitrosopyrrolodine
  • 4-(methylnitrosamino)-1-(3-pyridyl)-1
  • N’Nitrosoanatabine
  • Aromatic Nitrohydrocarbons

Along with these carcinogens there are also four major toxins present when tobacco is burned. These toxins are:

  • Carbon Monoxide
  • Nitrogen Oxides
  • Hydrogen Cyanide
  • Ammonia

The chemicals on this page have accounted for more deaths than I would care to talk about and have driven health care and insurance costs through the roof for all of us. We have the technology to provide smokers the nicotine he or she is incredibly addicted to at a reasonable price, with zero impact on the environment around us, and most importantly, without negative health effects to the user.

Nicotine is not known by any organization in the world to have a negative impact on health!

Let’s provide the tobacco alternative our community needs to better the lives of everyone affected by tobacco use.
